Group 5 Plans Program Year During Fall Retreat
Group 5 got away from the hustle and bustle of the city and had an overnight retreat at the Patuxant 4-H Center in Upper Marlboro. The retreat took place September 21-22 and gave the Tweens a chance to do team building exercises, sports activities and plan their program year. The group set the following goals for the program year: get to know each other, have lots of fun, learn about money with the Jack and Jill Financial Modules, engage in public speacking activities as part of the Jack and Jill Leadership Modules, and each person provide at least 50 hours of service to the community so they can earn a Presidential Service Medal. Group 5 will also start an investment club and will have regular investment club meetings throughout the year. The host moms for the retreat were Denise Gibson Bailey, Vanessa White and Tanya Marion.
